Bari Sadri is a city as well as a municipality situated in the Chittaurgarh district in the state of Rajasthan in western India. The administrative headquarters of the district of Chittaurgarh is located in the historic city of Chittorgarh. The district spreads over an area of 10,856 square km; the total population of the district is 1,802,656 (as per the 2001 census). The district is divided into a bigger western portion and a smaller eastern portion by the Neemuch District of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The Neemuch, the Mandsaur, and the Ratlam districts of Madhya Pradesh to the east surround the western portion. The Rajasthan district of Banswara is to the south, that of Udaipur and Rajsamand are to the east, and Bhilwara is on the north. The Bhilwara, the Bundi, and the Kota districts of Rajasthan to the north and the Neemuch District of Madhya Pradesh to the south and west border the eastern portion.

According to the 2001 India census, Bari Sadri has a population of 15,001. Males comprise 51% of the population and females make up 49%. Bari Sadri has a mean literacy rate of 66%, higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 60% of the males and 40% of the females are literate. 13% of the population comprise children under six years of age. It also has an industrial area that is home to many small agricultural industries. Bari Sadri is located at 24.42°N 74.47°E It has an average elevation of 279 m (915 ft). Elevation (Above mean sea level) : 489 m (1,604 ft).


Barisadri was once a major Jagir (feudal land owned by a nobleman), and still has an impressive castle in the centre of the town. This area is more wealthy than other parts of Rajasthan, and this is reflected in the rich ornamentation to be seen around the town – even the bullock carts are made of carved wood.
